What Do You Have To Say For Yourself?

Wouldn't it be nice if the candidates were really listening to what you had to say? Wouldn't it be great if they could really hear what America's women are really looking for? It sure would be nice if somehow we could tell the candidates what really matters to women today.

Hmmm... Oh, wait! What about a website where woman can go and state in smart terms what we want?

This Is What Women Want is a site where you can post what you think should be important to the candidates today. This is your place to let them know what really matters to you. Each week the best speak-outs are selected and sent to the media and candidates.

In visiting the site and reading a few of the top submissions, I noticed that we are pretty focused on some key themes. namely better laws against rape, real rape prevention programs, full choice regarding our bodies, real life sexual education programs, and equal rights for LGBT. I notice that all of these topics somehow come back to sex and our bodies. What does it say when a cross section of abstract women are all concerned because our bodies are at such risk? At risk for assault, at risk for abuse, at risk for victimization.

Clearly the issues are real. It is so frustrating that so many people are fanatically opposed to changing these very issues. They should just tell us out right that we don't get fair treatment because we have the wrong plumbing. Seriously. At least then we would know what we are dealing with up front.
